Summary On March 17, 2016, the City solicited formal bids from qualified vendors to furnish labor and equipment to provide General and Right of Way Mowing and Landscaping Services.
The City received six (6) bids in response to RFB 2016-05. Of the bids received, three (3) were determined to be Responsive & Responsible Bidders: Florida Southern with a monthly bid of $4,069.00; Watson Yard & Lawn Service with a monthly bid of $4,305.00; and SAS Lawncare, Inc. with a monthly bid of $5,260.00.
Staff recommended to award RFB 2016-05 to Florida Southern.
After Commission approval on April 11, 2016 the City entered into a contract with Florida Southern effective April 12, 2016. City Staff monitored the mowing and landscaping progress and began noting defects in the performance of work. After continuous monitoring by City Staff it was determined that the defects in performance were not being met which eventually resulted in A Notice of Termination being issued to terminate the Contract.
Staff recommends to award the contract to Watson Yard and Lawn Service who was the second lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a monthly bid of $4,305.00.
