SUBJECT:  Citizen Advisory Task Force (CATF) Appointment

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Accept the CATF recommendation to appoint LaDtetre’ McClain to a term of office beginning May 1, 2016 and ending April 30, 2019.

Summary

The CATF is the advisory body to the City Commission on our Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.  Recruitment notices for two (2) vacancies on this seven-member committee were advertised throughout 2016 in the Alachua County Today.  The recruitment notice was also placed on the City website and several community bulletin boards.  In response to this recruitment, the City received one (1) application:

• LaDtetre’ McClain

The appointment procedure outlined in the Bylaws state…"Candidates for membership on the Task Force shall be proposed by the Task Force and submitted to the City of Alachua City Commission for approval."  The item has been discussed by the CATF and authorized to be submitted to the Commission for approval.

The applicant has been advised that the Commission will be considering the item and has been invited to attend the meeting.
