SUBJECT:  RFB 2017-01 NW 157th Street Paving Project

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

1)  Accept the lowest Responsive and Responsible bid in the amount of $233,767.00 submitted by Andrews Paving, Inc.

2)  Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Andrews Paving, Inc. to complete the work under the provisions of RFB 2017-01.

Summary

On December 15, 2016, the City solicited formal bids from qualified vendors to furnish labor, equipment and materials to complete the NW 157th Street Paving Project (work area generally located within the NW 157th Street right of way bounded by County Road 235 and NW 118 Avenue).

The Request for Bid closed on January 17, 2017.  The City received five (5) bids in response to RFB 2017-01.  Four of the five bids were determined to be Responsive & Responsible Bidders:  Anderson Columbia with a base bid of $502,191.00; O'Steen Brothers with a base bid of $302,752.00; John C. Hipp Construction with a base bid of $298,451.00 and Andrews Paving, Inc. with a base bid of $233,767.00.

Staff recommends to proceed with awarding RFB 2017-01 to Andrews Paving, Inc. as the lowest Responsive and Responsible Bidder with a base bid of $233,767.00.
