Autism is a condition that affects people across gender, ethnic, socio-economic, and geographical lines. In the U.S. incidents of autism occur at 1 in 68 people yet understanding of this neurological condition remains limited. Awareness is crucial to the greater recognition and understanding of this condition. Increased awareness can lead to more accurate and early diagnosis as well as to the community acceptance and accommodations to those diagnosed require as they learn to function with  the neurological challenges in social behaviors, communication, and education encountered by those affected with this complex syndrome.
