SUBJECT:  RFB 2015-05 General Lawn & Landscaping Maintenance Services Award

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

(1)  Accept the lower responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $29,865.00 ($2,488.75 monthly) submitted by Watson Yard & Lawn Service.

(2)  Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Watson Yard & Lawn Service to complete the work as needed under the provisions of the contract.

Summary

During the FY 2014-2015 Budget Process, the City Commission provided funding for General Lawn & Landscaping Maintenance Services.

RFB 2015-05:

A solicitation for bids for all labor, materials, tools, equipment and costs for the annual requirement for mowing and landscaping at nine (9) locations in the City of Alachua was issued on February 4, 2015.  The solicitation for bids was closed on February 25, 2015 at 3:00 P.M.

The City received six (6) bids in response to RFB 2015-05.  Three (3) of the six (6) bids were responsive and responsible and were received from Oasis Landscape Services with the monthly bid of $5,715.00, D&D Lawn Care, Inc. with the monthly bid of $4,998.75, and Watson Yard & Lawn Service with the monthly bid of $2,488.75.

Staff recommends to proceed with awarding RFB 2015-05 to Watson Yard & Lawn Service.
