Summary The Swick House restoration began in October of 2014 and the expanded scope of work approved by the City Commission includes a complete restoration of the 4000 square foot structure including a newly designed roof profile to remove faulty flat and leaking roof sections, complete electrical re-wiring, new HVAC system including duct replacement, interior wall configuration to yield five meeting rooms, new restrooms, flooring, all interior and exterior doors and windows. The facility is being brought to complete ADA compliance, architectural identity is being preserved and the new meeting center will be fully integrated in the Municipal Complex.
Hidden defects that required correction have added to projected costs.
The Swick House current budget is $ 269,855.00 and it is reasonably established and projected that an additional $50,000 is necessary to bring the building to substantial completion in order for the facility to be utilized. The additional funding requested will provide for necessary work including painting of the interior/exterior, flooring and other finish items.
Staff has reviewed the City Budget and recommends $50,000 be transferred from General Fund Contingency to the CRA Budget in order for the project to be completed and on schedule. Resolution 15-07 and corresponding Budget Amendment Request are attached. |
