Summary The proposed Mutual Aid Agreement was submitted to the Alachua Police Department for consideration by the District Board of Trustees of Santa Fe College, FL, for the Santa Fe College Police Department. Under the Florida Mutual Aid Act, the Alachua Police Department and Santa Fe College Police Department have the authority to enter into a combined mutual aid agreement for law enforcement services that 1) permits voluntary cooperation and assistance of a routine law enforcement nature across jurisdictional lines, and; 2) provides for rendering of assistance in a law enforcement emergency as defined in section 252.34, F.S. This agreement was approved by the District Board of Trustees on Feb. 17, 2015, and subsequently submitted to Alachua Police Department for consideration/approval. The former agreement expired on Jan. 15, 2015; whereas, the proposed agreement provides for the automatic renewal each year. | | |
