Summary In October 2014, the City submitted two grant applications to the SRWMD under its R.I.V.E.R. Program for drainage and storm water improvements to be performed on NW 142 Terrace and at the Merrillwood subdivision. The City was notified on March 10, 2015 that both of its applications were approved for funding. The total award amount for both project applications is $129,695 ($42,795-Merrillwood project and $86,900-NW 142 Terrace project).
In order to receive the funds, the City was required to enact a water conservation and shortage ordinance. The City met this requirement by adopting Resolution 15-08 on April 13, 2015. This resolution provides for the applicability and enforcement by Alachua County of Chapter 80 of the Alachua County Code within City limits. Finally, the City must execute the two grant agreements. | | |
