SUBJECT:  RFB 2016-01 NW 59th Terrace Roadway Improvements Award

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

1)  Accept the low bid in the amount of $104,559.00 submitted by Coleman Construction, Inc.

2)  Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Coleman Construction, Inc. to complete work under the provisions of RFB 2016-01.

Summary

On October 1, 2015 the City issued a solicitation for bids for all labor, materials, services, expenses, equipment and costs to complete the NW 59th Terrace Roadway Improvement Project from NW 104th Place North to NW US Hwy 441 (Roadway Section #2).  The Request for Bids closed on November 5, 2015 at 3:00 P.M.

The City received four (4) bids in response to RFB 2016-01.  All bids qualified.  The bids were received from Coleman Construction, Inc. with a bid of $104,559.00, Anderson Columbia with a bid of $182,112.60, V.E. Whitehurst & Sons with a bid of $236,905.00 and Scherer Construction with a bid of $170,732.00.

Staff recommends to proceed with awarding RFB 2016-01 to Coleman Construction, Inc.
