Summary The Public Services Electric Division currently owns a 2008 International Cab & Chassis with an Altec AM55-E Bucket Utility Body. The engine over the years has had multiple failures and issues making the vehicle undependable. The repairs on the engine are expensive and down time while the vehicle is being repaired has hindered electric system operational repairs and service.
The City received a quote for a 2016 International Durastar Cab & Chassis with contract options including removal of the existing Altec AM55-E Bucket Utility Body from the 2008 International Chassis and reinstalling the Utility Body on a 2016 International Cab & Chassis. The 2008 International Cab & Chassis will be used as a trade for the 2016 International Durastar Cab & Chassis.
The quote received from Mauldin International Trucks is based on the costs associated with the 2015-2016 Florida Sheriff's Association Contract - Bid 14-13-0904 CAB & Chassis & Other Fleet Equipment Bid Award.
The City also received a quote for the cost of an Extended Warranty for the 2016 International Durastar Cab & Chassis for an additional five (5) years or 100,000 miles in the amount $2,550.00.
