SUBJECT:  Believing in Girls Proclamation

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Mayor Coerper to read the proclamation.

 

Summary

PACE Center for Girls Alachua works to support at-risk or at-promise girls in Alachua county. Working with Florida's Department of Children and Families, Department of Education, and Department of Juvenile Justice, PACE provides young women access to the resources and opportunities they need to reach their full potential. Operating in Alachua County since 1998, PACE has been recognized as a non-profit in the State of Florida since 1985.

 

In honor of Women's History Month celebrated in March in the United States, PACE wishes to join with the City of Alachua honoring the young women of our community with the proclamation declaring March to be Believing in Girls Month.

 

PACE is having a representative present to accept the proclamation.
