Summary

Since 2013 Keep Alachua County Beautiful has provided support for the City of Alachua's annual Great American Cleanup event. In tipping fee waivers for tires and municipal solid waste the organizational support to the City has been $7107.50. This does not include cleanup supplies and incentive gifts, such as t-shirts, tote bags and water bottles as well as the arrangement of services for plants, customized posters, flyers, collection equipment, trucks, and drivers.

The cleanups and beautification projects contribute to the beauty, property vale, economic development, and safety of the City of Alachua and Keep Alachua County Beautiful provides a welcome service.

Keep Alachua County Beautiful would like the opportunity to tell the City Commission about the organization and to invite the City to become a member.

At this time of the 9 municipalities in Alachua County only Gainesville is a member (as well as the County). Gainesville joined at $10,000 a year with grant funding. Keep Alachua County Beautiful is asking the City of Alachua to join at its customary Corporate/Government level of membership which is $1000 annually.

Archer, Waldo and LaCross have expressed interest in joining. Presentations are still being scheduled for Newberry, Hawthorne, High Springs, and Micanopy.
