SUBJECT:  Election of Vice Mayor

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Conduct the election of the Vice Mayor.

 

Summary

According to the City Charter, the City Commission shall elect from among its members a Vice Mayor annually at the first City Commission meeting after the City election.  Furthermore, Rule 7 of the Commissioners Rules of Procedure provide the City Manager call for nominations for Vice Mayor; nominations do not require a second.   The City Manager conducts a roll-call vote if there is more than one nomination.   Subsequent to the election, the new Vice Mayor will assume his or her seat.
