SUBJECT:  RFB 2018-02 City of Alachua Lift Station #1 Conversion & Expansion Award

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

1)  Award RFB 2018-02 to Andrews Paving, Inc. to provide services for the City of Alachua Lift Station #1 Conversion & Expansion Project.

 

2)  Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Andrews Paving, Inc. and issue a Purchase Order in the amount of $188,837.50 for the City of Alachua Lift Station #1 Conversion & Expansion Project.

 

Summary

On April 27, 2018, the City issued a Request for Bids for the City of Alachua Lift Station #1 Conversion & Expansion Project.

 

This Project includes converting the existing Lift Station #1 from drywell to wetwell, connecting to the existing stubbed out forcemain, abandoning the existing effluent line associated with the drywell and constructing a paved access area.

 

The City received three (3) Bids in response to RFB 2018-02.  All bids qualified.  Bids were received from American Construction Services, Inc. of Tampa for $303,878.00; Worth Construction & Development, Inc. for $189,767.31; and Andrews Paving, Inc. for $188,837.50.

 

Staff recommends awarding RFB 2018-02 to Andrews Paving, Inc. for $188,837.50 as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
