Summary At the May 21st, 2018 Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board (CRAAB) Meeting, the CRAAB recommended that the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) direct Staff to research the cost of billboards along I-75 and US 441, with the purpose of advertising downtown Alachua.
The CRA Market Study & Economic Development Implementation Plan recommends to "invest in billboard signage on the Interstate advertising Downtown Alachua". Phase 3, Strategy 1, of the Branding and Marketing Guide proposes installation of a billboard.
During their July 23rd, 2018 meeting, the CRA discussed the CRAAB recommendation and moved unanimously direct Staff to collect pricing and options on billboards along U.S. 441 and I-75.
Staff has collected quotes from three outdoor advertising agencies, which are attached to this agenda item. Staff will present to the CRAAB the billboards that are currently available for lease and that would target potential visitors to downtown Alachua. |
