Summary Each year, October is recognized as National Breast Cancer Awareness month; when we honor those who have lost lives to breast cancer, and recognize the survivors who still engage in the battle. Additionally, the third Friday of October is National Mammography Day, to encourage preventative care for early detection. In support of these efforts, the City of Alachua launches its "Alachua Goes Pink!" campaign. Pink ribbons are placed on fleet vehicles, APD decals one of its traffic units and staff members wear commemorative bracelets & pins. | | |
