SUBJECT:  RFB 2019-04 FY 2018 Florida Highway Beautification Grant Award

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

1)  Award RFB 2019-04 to Skyfrog Landscape to provide services to the City of Alachua for the FY 2018 Florida Highway Beautification Grant Project.

2)  Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Skyfrog Landscape and issue a Purchase Order in the amount of $87,750.00  for the FY 2018 Florida Highway Beautification Grant Project.

Summary

On January 3, 2019, the City solicited formal bids from qualified vendors to furnish all necessary equipment, supervision, labor, materials, tools, and incidentals to landscape and irrigate three (3) medians immediately west of NW 147th Drive, Alachua, Florida on SR 20 (US Hwy 441) as part of the FY 2018 Florida Highway Beautification Grant Project.

The City received three (3) bids in response to RFB 2019-04.  Two of the three bids qualified.  Bids were received from Skyfrog Landscape in the amount of $87,750.00; Oasis Landscape Services, Inc. in the amount of $158,377.17; and (3) West Farms, Inc. in the amount of $106,727.52.

Staff recommends awarding RFB 2019-04 to Skyfrog Landscape as the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder.
