Summary The Florida Department of Health (DOH) received grant funding from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services in December of 2016, primarily, to combat infectious diseases. As such, DOH has earmarked a portion of the federal funds for mosquito control programs in Florida. DOH has allocated fifty thousand (50,000.00) dollars to the City of Alachua's mosquito control program and has issued a purchase order to the City as a subcontractor.
The City will utilize these funds to purchase the following items:
- two ultra low sprayer with GPS tracking systems
- mosquito mist adulticide
- larvicide briquettes
- light traps and batteries
Resolution 19-07 provides budget to accommodate these purchases and recognizes the federal pass-through grant funding.
