SUBJECT: Construction Administration Services for Alachua West Utility Infrastructure Improvements

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

(1) Accept the Proposal from Causseaux, Hewett & Walpole for Construction Phase Services for the Alachua West Utility Infrastructure Improvements Project; and (2) Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with CHW in the amount of $65,390.00.

Summary

The Alachua West Utility Project consists of water and wastewater infrastructure improvements. On March 25, 2019, the City Commission awarded RFB 2019-05 to Miller Pipeline, LLC for the utility infrastructure improvements.

Causseaux, Hewett & Walpole (CHW) submitted a Proposal to the City for for Construction Phase Services in the amount of $65,390.00 for the Alachua West Utility Infrastructure Improvements Project.

The Proposal includes the following Services:

Construction Administration Services - $15,390.00
Construction Engineering Inspections - $50,000.00

CHW is the Engineer of Record for the Alachua West Utility Infrastructure Improvements Project. CHW has familiarity with the site location, drainage, stormwater management and utilities.

Staff recommends to accept the proposal from CHW for Construction Administration and Construction Engineering Inspection Services for the Alachua West Utility Infrastructure Improvements Project.

ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL INFORMATION:Funding provided through Series 2019 Note and Water and Wastewater Division allocated funds in the FY 2019 Budget. The Alachua West Water Infrastructure Improvement Area Fees and the Alachua West Wastewater Infrastructure Improvement Area Fees will be received to offset infrastructure costs.
