SUBJECT:  RFQ 2019-01 Potable Water System Hydrant, Valve Maintenance & Repair Program Award

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

1)  Accept the recommended rankings of the Selection Committee:  First-ranked being Wachs Water Services; Second-ranked being Hydromax USA.

 

2)  Authorize Staff to move forward with contract negotiations with Wachs Water Services. Should negotiations fail, allow Staff to move forward with negotiations with second ranked Hydromax USA.

 

3)  Upon agreed negotiations, authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract to provide a Potable Water System Hydrant, Valve Maintenance & Repair Program in an amount not to exceed $195,000.

 

Summary

On May 23, 2019, the City solicited formal qualifications (RFQ 2019-01) from qualified vendors to provide a Potable Water System Hydrant, Valve Maintenance and Repair Program.

 

The City received two (2) qualifications packets in response to RFQ 2019-01.  The qualification packets were received from Wachs Water Services and Hydromax USA.

 

Selection Committee Members reviewed, evaluated and scored the qualifications.  The Selection Committee met, discussed and ranked the qualifications as follows:  First-ranked is Wachs Water Services; and, Second-ranked is Hydromax USA.

 

Staff recommends to accept the Selection Committee Rankings and to move forward with contract negotiations with Wachs Water Services as the first-ranked qualifier.
