SUBJECT:  RFB 2019-14 City of Alachua FY 2019 Roadway Improvements Award

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

1)  Accept the Base Bid from John C. Hipp Construction Equipment Company for the FY 2019 Roadway Improvements Project in the amount of $175,982.00.

 

2)  Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with John C. Hipp Construction Equipment Company and issue a Purchase Order in the amount of $175,982.00 to complete the FY 2019 Roadway Improvements Project.

 

Summary

On August 1, 2019, the City solicited formal bids from qualified vendors to furnish all necessary equipment, supervision, labor, materials and incidentals to complete the City of Alachua FY 2019 Roadway Improvements Project.

 

The City received one (1) bid in response to RFB 2019-14.  A Qualified bid was received from John C. Hipp Construction Equipment Company in the amount of $175,982.00 (Base Bid) with Alternate 1 for consideration in the amount of $22,806.00.

 

Staff recommends to award the base bid submitted by John C. Hipp Construction Equipment Company to complete the FY 2019 Roadway Improvements Project.
