SUBJECT:  Heritage Oaks Phase I Infrastructure Acceptance

PREPARED BY:  Adam Boukari, City Manager

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Accept the Heritage Oaks Phase I water system, wastewater system, electric system, roadways, sidewalks and stormwater conveyance system, and book the value on the City's asset lists.

Summary

The infrastructure for the Heritage Oaks Phase I subdivision has been inspected by the City and necessary repairs made by the Heritage Oaks Homeowners Association as well as by the City via a letter of credit, as funds would allow.

The estimate for the value of the infrastructure is $2,295,000 as certified probable costs by Causseaux, Hewett & Walpole, Inc.  The value of the completed infrastructure as of the date of acceptance will be placed on the City's asset lists.

City of Alachua Code of Ordinances 7.8.1(B), related to subdivisions, requires the express acceptance of maintenance of infrastructure to be effectuated by specific action of the City Commission.  This item provides for such action.

The proposed infrastructure for the City to accept includes the Heritage Oaks Phase I water system, wastewater system, electric system, roadways, sidewalks and stormwater conveyance system.  The City is not accepting the stormwater management facilities or the alleys.  The stormwater management facilities and the alleys are to be privately maintained in perpetuity.
