Summary Commissioner Wilford serves as the Alachua City Commission liaison to the North Central Florida Regional Planning Council (NCFRPC) which is comprised of 12 counties in North Central Florida. In his role as Chair of NCFRPC, Commissioner Wilford recently attended the NADO annual conference in Reno, Nevada. Over 500 individuals from the 50 states, several American territories, and Canada attended the conference.
NADO and its network of Regional Development Organizations (RDOs) supports federal programs and regional initiatives which improve economic conditions and quality of life in America’s rural and small metropolitan communities. Across the country, RDOs and Regional Planning Councils (RPCs), such as NCFRPC, serve as catalysts for regional economic development, urban and rural planning, public-private partnerships, and strategic initiatives designed to fulfill locally-identified priorities.
