SUBJECT:  Underground Primary Cable Purchase for San Felasco Parkway

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

1)  Accept the quote received from Gresco Utility in the amount of $150,000.00 to purchase 25,000 FT of underground primary cable.

2)  Authorize the City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Gresco Utility in the amount of $150,000.00 for the underground primary cable.

Summary

In February 2019 the City solicited formal bids from qualified vendors to complete the construction of the San Felasco Parkway Project.  The City received funding through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund in the amount of $6,750,000 to fund the project including design, permitting, construction and inspection activities.

As part of the construction of the project, the City has utilized owner direct purchase options to capture cost savings.  The underground primary electric cable needs to be purchased to serve the project, with the City procuring directly from the cable vendor.  This purchase is in the scope of the awarded construction contract.

Staff recommends to move forward with the purchase of the underground primary cable from Gresco Utility.
