Summary The CRA Advisory Board’s (CRAAB) purpose is to provide recommendations to the Community Redevelopment Agency regarding the implementation of plans, events, programs, and projects pertaining to the Community Redevelopment Area. As required by Resolution CRA 17-04, citizens who desire to serve on the Board must live or work in the Community Redevelopment Area.
Resolution CRA 20-03 will appoint two members to the CRA Advisory Board and establishes the terms of service for each member (to begin June 13, 2020 and end June 12, 2023)
Members Marvin Bingham and Byran Boukari were appointed by Resolution CRA 17-05 to serve three year terms on the CRA Advisory Board (CRAAB) which commenced on June 12, 2017 and end on June 12, 2020. Applications for these available positions were available on the City website beginning on May 7, 2020 with a submission deadline on May 28, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. The positions were advertised for two weeks in the Alachua County Today during this time and a copy of the public notice is attached to this agenda item.
The CRA received two qualifying applications for CRAAB member appointments, which were from Marvin Bingham and Bryan Boukari. The CRA also received a third application, however the candidate did not qualify due to their address being outside of the CRA district. The candidates have been advised that the CRA will consider CRAAB member appointments at the July 27, 2020 CRA meeting. Their applications for CRAAB membership are attached to this agenda item.
